Rust PVE Server Beginner's Guide

New to Rust PVE? Start here. Learn the mechanics, earn RP, claim kits, call supply signals, and progress without the constant PVP pressure of a normal Rust server.

What is a Rust PVE server?

A Rust PVE server keeps the survival, crafting, monument, and base-building loop of Rust, but removes player-vs-player killing and base raiding. On GoodWibes PVE, you still fight scientists, zombies, animals, and Bradley / helicopter events, but you don't have to worry about another player shooting you on sight or blowing up your base while you sleep.

That makes PVE a great place to learn the game, build large bases, complete monuments, and enjoy the progression side of Rust. The economy is still active — you earn and spend RP through the server's custom systems.

Getting started: your first hour

  1. Pick a calm spawn. Avoid the beach near heavy-monument traffic at first. Look for a spot with wood, stone, and hemp nearby so you can build a small starter base quickly.
  2. Build a 2x1 starter. Stone walls and a sheet metal door are enough to protect your starter loot from scientists and animals. Don't overbuild until you have a steady supply of resources.
  3. Farm smart, not hard. Use the server's gather boosts and upgrade your tools as fast as possible. Hit barrels and loot boxes on the road for components and scrap.
  4. Learn the map. Monuments are safe from raiding but still dangerous. Start with the Supermarket, Gas Station, and Lighthouse, then move up to larger monuments as your gear improves.

ServerRewards (RP) explained

RP is the server currency on GoodWibes PVE. You earn it by playing — farming, looting, completing events, and voting for the server. Type /s or /shop in-game to open the RP store and spend your balance on kits, items, and utilities.

Custom kits and supply signals

Kits are pre-packaged loadouts you can claim with RP or through the store. They save time and let you recover from a death quickly. On a PVE server, kits are especially useful because you don't lose your base to raids — you mainly need gear to keep farming and doing monuments.

Supply signals are another major progression shortcut. Use them to call airdrops at your base or a safe spot, then defend the drop from NPCs. The loot is often higher-tier than what you'll find casually farming.

PVE progression tips

  • Do Bradley and Heli with friends. These events drop some of the best loot on the server and are balanced for group PVE.
  • Upgrade your base gradually. On PVE, base defense is about NPCs, not raiders. Focus on sheet metal and armored doors first.
  • Use Recycler NPCs. Turn unwanted loot into scrap and components instead of letting it pile up in boxes.
  • Watch for server events. PVE servers often run custom events with bonus RP and unique rewards. Check Discord announcements so you don't miss them.
  • Ask in chat. GoodWibes PVE has a friendly community. Most players will answer questions about monuments, crafting, or the best kit to buy next.

Want to progress faster?

If you enjoy the server and want to speed up your progression, the GoodWibes store offers RP, VIP, and AirDrop packages that are delivered automatically. VIP packages often include daily kits, bonus gather rates, and priority queue access, while RP packages give you instant currency to spend in the in-game shop.
